High Bridestones (Yorks) submitted by JimChampion on 7th Dec 2007. August 2007. The High Bridestones, on the moor. Just one of the megaliths is still standing, with small change firmly wedged into its many crevices. A megalithic shambles indeed. The heather in bloom says that it is summer, although the temperature (and wind) on this day was more like winter!

St John the Baptist Church, Chester
Date Added: 14th Oct 2014
Site Type: Ancient Cross
Country: England (Cheshire)
Visited: Yes on 11th Oct 2014. My rating: Access 4
St John the Baptist Church, Chester submitted by TimPrevett on 12th Jan 2005. This picture taken on a no flash setting, and rested on the back of a pew so as to avoid blurring.
At least five early to 10th Century cross heads at the rear of St John the Baptist in Chester. The church is immediately adjacent the Roman Amphitheatre, and opposite the Chester Visitor Centre.
A church has stood on this location for at least 1,300 years, and therefore the place has a long history. There are ruins of different phases of the church at the west and east ends of the exterior.

Harland Moor submitted by kelpie on 23rd Feb 2004. This circle consists of twelve edge-set boulders. It has a hollow in the centre thought to be a medieval ore-pit.
To the south lies a cairn field and a stone that I believe to be an outlier to the circle.
