Wogan Cavern

Wogan Cavern submitted by Creative Commons on 18th Apr 2026. Beneath Pembroke Castle This cave, called Wogan Cavern, was home to early human dwellers long before Pembroke Castle came to be built on the rocky outcrop above. The cave was incorporated into the castle as a storage room by bricking up the entrance and cutting a spiral staircase down through the rock to the entrance seen on the far side. It's usually full of people, but a few minutes patience led to this moment of emptiness - the voices of the next visitors can already be heard on the stairs!...

Rollright Stones submitted by Energyman on 21st Dec 2020. This was the closest the weather forecast would allow me to get to this year's solstice sunrise, 20/12/20 8:30am. Luckily very little cloud. The shot is from the altar as I call it, through the entrance at the King's Men, Rollrights. This alignment was calculated by Jack Morris Eyton, though he never got the chance to confirm it.
