Log Text: As allways at acient sites, there must be a well around. And indeed there is a well. Unfortunately not upkept and in very bad stage.
Facing Carowkeel in front of you, then next to the car park on the left side, there is the well. You find a small stone entrance towards the well. It is all very wet, garbage laying around. It is sad to see how we have lost to estimated water, coming from the earth.

Log Text: The public transportation is only 5min. away. The train stops on request and the stop is called "Erdmannlistein" just as the site. It is easy to find in the middle of surrounding beech trees. The boulders are impressive and one story high. It is thought to be a calendar system and cultural place. The site hosts pick-nic tables and fire pits for families. A nearby information board gives explanation on the astronomic dates. One boulder is carved with a Swastika the symbolic wheel of fortune and abundance. This symbol is used over thousands of years around the globe. Here in the prehistoric European time it is found on items and sites and is thought to be used against evil things. It is on a hill but with no view anymore. Once there was no forest here. One old beech tree has growth that could be an indication for earth radiation. All trees around it seem to bend away from this site. When visiting not on a specific astronomic date, the energy is not uplifting. Solarplexus is closing and headache starts.

Log Text: You can park the car on the main road "Zurichstrasse" nearby. Walk from there back along the Zurichstrasse towards Mettmenstetten. Take the first right and walk for 200m straight. Take the first right again and you are heading now towards the forest on a small farmer track. Just when you reach the forest and the road curves you can see that a part of the road splits and goes straight into the forest. Right there on the right hand side you will find the Lochstein. The Menhir row behind it is not very impressive and strongly overgrown, but still visible. Unfortunately I have no picture of the row. The Lochstein is about 1.2m high

Log Text: You drive from Bishop's Lydeard towards Cothelstone. Park in the curve just out of Cothelsone. Coming from Cothelstone the well is on the left hand side, behinde the small creek. The first signpost is not easy to see beside of the road due to overgrown woods. It takes you down to the small creek and further to a pasture. At the second signepost follow it towards northeast and in the corner is St. Agnes Well. About 5min. to walk.
The Well is very nice setup and wonderfully restored. A nice and quiet site full of privacy. The Water wonderfull and fresh. Interesting history and legends about Pixies and the use of this holy water. Worth to see and discover.
