Combes menhir submitted by thecaptain on 10th Dec 2009. It stands 3 metres tall, and is made of the most wonderfully weathered piece of limestone, full of holes and divots, with moss and lichens growing everywhere.
It is quite a character.

Combeynart statue-menhir submitted by theCaptain on 18th Nov 2010. This is a very tall thin male statue-menhir which stands just over 2 metres tall, but only 40 cm width.
Many of his features are equally scrawny. Legs, belt and "objet" can be made out but the rest is a bit of a jumble.

Cordon des Druides submitted by TheCaptain on 29th Jun 2007. This long line of white quartz stones is easy to find in the Fougères Forest.
The main row is about 250 metres long, and the white quartz blocks are spaced at about 3 metres apart.

Just below the top of the hill below Coste-Caude dolmen 1, there is a track to the west, with what looks like, and is marked on the maps as a menhir. It is however a sculpture of a prehistoric man from about the year 1910, and his features can be made out when looking closely

Unfortunately, to see this dolmen nowadays, the full guided tour of the abbey has to be taken - there are no longer any open visits round the grounds because it has been made into an animal park.
But its worth it.
