Cazarils tombe ovale 1

Cazarils tombe ovale 1 submitted by TheCaptain on 11th Oct 2007. At the back of the chamber is a wonderful carved stone - a copy, as the original is safely kept in a museum. It is quite well known, I had seen it before in many places.

Cazarils tombe ovale 2

Cazarils tombe ovale 2 submitted by TheCaptain on 4th Nov 2007. Cazarils tombe ovale 2 is much bigger than the first, but does not have the wonderful carved headstone. It's cairn of stones is much bigger also, but unfortunately was getting very overgrown with bushes, making photos of the whole thing very difficult.

Champ des Courses Tumulus

Champ des Courses Tumulus submitted by thecaptain on 5th Jan 2006. To the west of the town of Gramat, along the D.15 road just before the hippodrome can be found this enormous tumulus. It’s a big one, perhaps 50 metres in diameter, and 12 metres high, and is in a swampy area beside a fishing lake, which is surprising for round here as most of the area is so arid. It must be an area of springs above an impermeable layer of rock.
