Botudo menhirs

Trip No.26  Entry No.43  Date Added: 5th Jan 2019
Site Type: Standing Stones Country: France (Bretagne:Côtes-D'Armor (22))
Visited: Yes on 25th Jun 2005. My rating: Condition 3 Ambience 3 Access 4

Botudo menhirs

Botudo menhirs submitted by JohnGinny on 2nd Sep 2007. There are two menhirs at this location, which leads us to suspect it is an alignment. The first menhir was accessible, but the second one located in the field on the other side of the road was surrounded by that bane of all megalithic hunters - maize! We could find no reference to this second menhir - it was not on the Series Bleu map, nor could we get close, so John took a long shot standing on top of a big round straw bale. We will investigate during the winter.

Bougon Tumulus D

Bougon Tumulus D submitted by TheCaptain on 29th Aug 2010. Bougon D seems to be more a defining line separating the necropolis into two parts and it winds in a serpent like form between the quarries used to get the stone to build the other tumuli. It is about 70 metres in length, but only 1 or 2 metres in width and height.
