Abereiddy Promontory Fort

Abereiddy Promontory Fort submitted by h_fenton on 12th Jan 2010. Abereiddy Promontory Fort/enclosure, view of the ditches, ramparts and interior with the later tower. Just beyond the tower and to the right (north) are some depressions that probably contained buildings, these depressions have banks on their lower sides. The slight bank closest to the camera is probably post-medieval. Very low level, Kite Aerial Photograph (I do have a few higher shots but this show it all quite well) 8 October 2009

King's Quoit, Manorbier

King's Quoit, Manorbier submitted by sem on 25th Aug 2004. Looking SW,the view here is outstanding. This must have been a very sought after plot of Neolithic real-estate.It is set in a hollow on the cliffside lined with stones bigger than any but the capstone.Children & Nash suggest "no covering mound would have existed because the ledge.....is far too narrow." Ffyst Samson (Trellys) submitted by Johnny on 17th Sep 2001. Ffyst Samson neolithic chamber (SM 906 349) is otherwise known as Trellys, St. Nicholas. It is bizarre in appearance, consisting of a capstone apparently delicately balanced on just two tall pointed supporting stones. Although difficult to reach, the effort required is worthwhile!

Tumiac tumulus

Tumiac tumulus submitted by AlexHunger on 2nd Nov 2004. Tumulus de Tumiac, otherwise known as Butte De Cesar is the first noticeable site on the southerly Presqu’ile de Rhuys, on the way to Arzon. No serious attempt has been to date this large pile of rocks, but it is largely in the state it was in 2050 years ago, when it was first mentioned. Carnac Plage dolmen submitted by Jimwithnoname on 25th Nov 2010. A quite bare looking dolmen at the edge of a car park in the town. This is the magic of Carnac, even though it's not the original position it still stands as a monument to those of that time.
