Haylie submitted by mickm on 22nd Jan 2005. Haylie burial chamber, also known as Haco’s Tomb is situated on a shelf on the hillside overlooking Largs. This Clyde type chamber is all that remains of what was an enormous cairn that was known as Margaret’s Law. It was completely destroyed in 1772 when over 15,000 cartloads of stone were removed, revealing the chamber. Log Text: Great site to visit. Easy access for able bodied. Worth a stop and then continue to hill top for magnificent view over Cumbrae and beyond and Clyde estuary.
