Chicanná

Chicanná submitted by davidmorgan on 3rd Feb 2009. Structure XX - this is the highest building at Chicanná, its layout is almost quadrangular, composed of two levels and oriented towards the cardinal points. The lower section has eleven rooms and the upper part four. The principal facade is on the south side. The facade of the upper temple preserves the remains of the typical motif of the Chenes region: a complete, gigantic, zoomorphic mask. In each of the corners there are columns of masks of the "prominent nose" god which guards the mout...

Perge

Perge submitted by AlexHunger on 1st Oct 2007. Former Greek gate at Perge. The Romans enlarged the town and moved the limits further out south to the later Roman gate. The two towers became part of a forum building which held statues now at the Antalya Museum. The Town was originally started as Parha or Parcha when it was run by the Lukka seafaring vassal tribe of the Hittites that lived in the Antalya region which later became Lycia. Ephesus submitted by dodomad on 4th Oct 2015. An amulet figure that has been unearthed during excavations at the Çukuriçi mound in Ephesus has revealed that the ancient city is actually nine millennia old.
