Country: England (Somerset)

Stoney Littleton submitted by TheCaptain on 18th Mar 2005. Stoney Littleton barrow viewed from the west.
Its a cracking little barrow, with the most wonderful passage and chambers inside, and the powers that be have even left a decent sized area around it free of any farming activity. A lovely sunny day, but some of the walk to the barrow was horrendously muddy.
The fields around the barrow had recently been ploughed, a crop of beet of some sort having been the last grown. While walking back after my visit, I found a bit of the lovely golden colou...

Site Type: Cairn
Country: England (Greater Manchester)
Visited: Yes

Black Hill Cairns submitted by AngieLake on 10th Aug 2010. While walking up to the cairns you may notice, near the track, a line of Boundary Stones running (approx SE - NW) between the NE of Haytor Down and the summit of Black Hill.
This was one on the left coming downhill, a rather picturesque scene with the windswept tree.

Cow and Calf Rocks
Date Added: 7th Apr 2018
Site Type: Rock Outcrop
Country: England (Yorkshire (West))
Visited: Yes

Cow and Calf Rocks submitted by andy_h on 10th Nov 2003. The most prominent landmark for miles around. There are no visible megalithic remains at this huge rock outcrop, but local folklore refers to this being a place worthy of strong consideration.
I've always found it a little strange that as the most prominent landmark for miles around, the Cow n' Calf didn't bear any cup n' ring marks as they can be found both to the left and the right of the outcrop. It is possible that any that may have been on the rock could have been lost under the onslaugh...
