Wendron SW684365 Explorer 104 Take the B3297 Helston road from Redruth.Approx 1 mile from the Polgear Farm there is a sort of layby on the righthand side of the road,opposite there is a public footpath sign.Go over the stile and follow the hedge to an opening,there you will see the circle-part of which is incorporated in the hedge itself.

This is the very devil to find but here we go.Follow Buckle road to the saw mills and park there.Walk back up the road for about 100mtrs look for a mountain bike track on the right.Follow this track,cross a horsey path and follow track 'till you reach a wide horsey path.Follow this path up the hill ,when you reach the top cut to the right across the woods-no path here- you will see the Barrow through the trees.

West Woods Long Barrow submitted by hamish on 29th May 2005. It is really quite large, must have been something to see in its day. Excavations in the late 19th century reveiled a central cairn within the barrow covering a Dolmen.There was no pottery or human remains.
