New Town Cross

New Town Cross submitted by Bladup on 4th May 2013. New Town Cross, I presume it's been broken as it now looks more like one of the very nearby Merry maidens circle stones.

Boskenna Crosses

Boskenna Crosses submitted by cazzyjane on 18th Jun 2012. Boskenna Cross 2. SW4195 2418. Found beside a footpath one field north west of Boskenna Gate Cross. Only the cross head is ancient and has a broad- limbed cross on it which is very difficult to make out. It leans against the hedge and is often lost behind the brambles and foliage. Unfortunately there is also a lot of rubble around its base.

Log Text: Stunning Menhir standing out alone close to The Gump (Woon Gumpus Common) - I expect it to get a lot more foot traffick after Enys Men, however during my visit it was absolutely empty and nobody around for kilometers.

An almost vertical view of Chûn Castle, this photo is composed of 45 Kite Aerial photograph s that have been stitched together using Microsoft ICE, I think this image is slightly warped but it does give a good overview of Chûn Castle. Log Text: Visted Lanyon Quoit many times but this was my first time here - absolutely stunning example of a quoit. Humbling to consider this was considered ancient by the folks that built the hill fort, spent a lot of time sitting and trying to take stone rubbings of it.

(View photo, vote or add a comment)

Log Text: Quite easy to reach from a trail start right near a road, gorgeous barrow with a chambered area that's almost invisible until you're on top of the barrow or at the right angle outside of the stone perimiter.

Boslow Cross submitted by JimChampion on 24th Oct 2007. August 2007. The southern side of the Boslow Cross, alongside a grassy path.
(View photo, vote or add a comment)

Log Text: Two options for access - via a long trail from a road that seems to be used by vehicles frequently, or an incredibly muddy slog on a trial that continues across a road to The Gump in the other direction. Visited after there'd been some considerable lichen growth and couldn't entirely see the carvings, but still a lovely stone.

Four Parishes Rock

Date Added: 20th Feb 2023
Site Type: Sculptured Stone Country: England (Cornwall)
Visited: Yes on 19th Feb 2023. My rating: Condition 3 Ambience 4 Access 2

Four Parishes Rock

Four Parishes Rock submitted by Bladup on 4th Dec 2017. Four Parishes Rock, I believe the right hand side of this stone is a slightly different colour because it was once in the ground (for a long time), therefore making this a former Standing Stone. The weathering at the other end (left) is also going in the right direction if made when stood up. Ding Dong mine is visible on the right.

Log Text: Gorgeous stone with the most obvious cross on top, with a second cross on the south side and carvings beneath it.
