Log Text: Gorgeous stone that’s very easy to find with the driveway to Brodie castle going right past it, makes for fab access. There’s an info plaque that’s brief but still great, ogham is unfortunately incredibly faded away.

Log Text: Stunning Menhir standing out alone close to The Gump (Woon Gumpus Common) - I expect it to get a lot more foot traffick after Enys Men, however during my visit it was absolutely empty and nobody around for kilometers.

Log Text: A surprise little quoit statue(?)! Wasn't an intentional find, a friend and I saw it on the walk down to Morvah to catch a bus, but a wonderful one.

Log Text: Two options for access - via a long trail from a road that seems to be used by vehicles frequently, or an incredibly muddy slog on a trial that continues across a road to The Gump in the other direction. Visited after there'd been some considerable lichen growth and couldn't entirely see the carvings, but still a lovely stone.

Boskenna Crosses

Boskenna Crosses submitted by cazzyjane on 18th Jun 2012. Boskenna Cross 2. SW4195 2418. Found beside a footpath one field north west of Boskenna Gate Cross. Only the cross head is ancient and has a broad- limbed cross on it which is very difficult to make out. It leans against the hedge and is often lost behind the brambles and foliage. Unfortunately there is also a lot of rubble around its base.

Boskenna Cross

Boskenna Cross submitted by enkidu41 on 15th Nov 2004. The shot shows the principal face of the cross with its depiction of Christ. The three-part base is out of all proportion to the cross. The look of stability is deceptive given its three damaging brushed with modern traffic!

Boskednan stone circle

Boskednan stone circle submitted by JimChampion on 22nd Aug 2005. The portal stones illuminated by the last rays of the setting sun. The tallest one (on the left) has a diagonal groove present on this and the opposite side. The holes that the restored stones were raised from have been covered with pegged down foliage, presumably to encourage regrowth on the bare earth.

Boskednan Menhir 1

Boskednan Menhir 1 submitted by theCaptain on 14th Oct 2014. From my dim memories, I thought that the menhir was somewhere between the stone circle and the cairns along the path towards Men-an-Tol. On the way back I notice indeed there is a stump and perhaps a fallen stone right on the pathway where I was expecting it, is it remains of a pair? Pipers perhaps?

Log Text: A very sad little stump, it's ambience is definitely enhanced by the Boskednan stone circle behind it.

Boskednan A

Boskednan A submitted by AngieLake on 15th Oct 2004. This view of the 'destroyed barrow'/cairn near Carn Galva, shows its alignment with Ding Dong mine on the horizon. Boskednan circle is on slightly lower ground not far from here, and on an alignment between the 'barrow'/cairn and the mine building. The flat sides of the pointed stones face north/south. (This pic was taken at 4pm in March 2004). The stones sit on a higher ridge at 227m.

Log Text: Gorgeous spot, quiet and high enough for a view across Penwith. Has a very wonderful 'vibe' to it, old and quiet and the same contemplative place as a modern graveyard. Bit of a pain to find as it's low to the ground and grassy, but not impossible if you follow the track.

Log Text: A very easy to access site (and one that I'd consider hidden in plain sight - driven past many times and not realised the history of the area). Sight from top of one of the barrows is gorgeous and from there it is easy to spot the other two further along. Has an information board on the way in if coming from the town side that's weathered but has a lot of information about the area.
