Clongaskan submitted by frogcottage42 on 7th Mar 2010. Difficult to get a good overall shot of this site but the road sign at rear right shows how close it is to the road yet very awkward to reach.

Site Type: Stone Circle
Country: Ireland (Republic of) (Co. Kerry)
Visited: Yes on 8th Mar 2010

Cummers West submitted by frogcottage42 on 8th Mar 2010. This monument is difficult to see in it's entirety but this close up on the Northern part shows the radial nature of the circle.
The inner circle just stands out as a small bumpy ring around 3m in from the outer enclosure

Site Type: Stone Circle
Country: Ireland (Republic of) (Co. Cork)
Visited: Yes on 8th Mar 2010

Breeney More submitted by frogcottage42 on 8th Mar 2010. It is difficult to see that this may have been a circle, if it really was a circle and not a combination of a row and burials it was immense by SW standards.
This shot looks over where the axial stone should be, past the boulder burials and through the portals

Site Type: Stone Circle
Country: Ireland (Republic of) (Co. Cork)
Visited: Yes on 8th Mar 2010

Maughanclea NE submitted by frogcottage42 on 8th Mar 2010. Rather overgrown and hard to see this circle is one of the best examples of it's kind.
Around 12m across and with all 13 of it's stones present.
This sits alongside a modern farmhouse and is easily reached from the main road.
A great shame that it is not looked after!

Maughanclea SW submitted by frogcottage42 on 8th Mar 2010. The location on the crest of a small hill gives views over a valley containing at least seven stone circles. Very difficult to reach and very overgrown but well preserved. The 2.5m outlier dominates this small 5 stone circle

Curraduff Stone Circle
Date Added: 18th Sep 2010
Site Type: Stone Circle
Country: Ireland (Republic of) (Co. Cork)
Visited: Yes on 9th Mar 2010

Curraduff Stone Circle submitted by frogcottage42 on 9th Mar 2010. It may take a little imagination but these stones are in the correct positions and if stood upright would form four parts of a typical five stone circle.
A probable outlier is partially buried 3m to the North and there are several candidates for a fifth upright (including worryingly all the smashed up bits!)

Trawlebane submitted by frogcottage42 on 10th Mar 2010. Looking like a highland cow, this well preserved circle is cloaked in brambles and entirely filled with field clearance debris.
The brown fluffy stuff on the bottom of the stones is dried cow dung from muck spreading!

Cullenagh Stone Circle

Site Type: Stone Circle
Country: Ireland (Republic of) (Co. Cork)
Visited: Yes on 11th Mar 2010

Cullenagh Stone Circle submitted by frogcottage42 on 11th Mar 2010. If this was ever a circle then the stone on the left would have been either the axial or next to the axial and in all other examples locally would be shorter than the stone on the right.
