Wayland's Smithy submitted by winnits on 6th Jul 2002. I'm not sure whether it's actually in Oxfordshire or Berkshire - but a chambered Long Barrow from the front on June 29th 2002.

Log Text: I think the date is close to when I first saw it and it was a lot more secluded then, in fact it was a bit more enclosed by trees and undergrowth as I remember gave it a bit of a spooky atmosphere .
I used to visit it on my walks along the Ridgeway at late winter, early spring you never saw many people there in those days.

Log Text: I was impressed by the amount there was to see on this site and when it was complete it must have been very impressive.
And you can park next to it so useful for people of limited mobility but is a large area of field to get around on foot.
