Harrys Stone submitted by MartinRS on 16th Aug 2013. The site of Oxdale Lodge, by the side of Houndkirk Road. Fairbank's 18th Century map shows Oxdale Lodge to be the location of Harrys Stone. According to Addy, a 19th Century historian, 'Harry is the Anglo-Saxon hearh or hearg (pronounced harry), meaning a temple or idol.' One of the remaining stones.Smelting Hill is an embanked stone circle with only two stones remaining to the south-east of the site. One of the stones stands approximately 0.75m in height while the other is lying flat. The two are placed approximately 3.5m apart.The embankment has disappeared in the eastern half of the circle, but can still be faintly traced to the west. Tricky access up a narrow steep path, on the western side of the Tor.

Long Low submitted by TimPrevett on 30th Jul 2006. Looking along Long Low to the SSW. Two interesting things about Long Low: 1) It is the only long barrow in Staffordshire, and 2) It has rounded ends, which are either described as two round barrows, or as rounded terminals. This is very reminiscent of the Broadmayne Bank Barrow in Dorset. Drystone walling intersects it in several places, and I styal is incorporated into one of the western side walls.

There are 2 humps here that seem like the natural entrance to Oxton camp, the one in the picture is the slightly bigger one [called Robin Hood's Pot] and the start of the other is going out the photo on the left, I think they're natural but one has a little barrow on it.
