Only the impressive megalithic skeleton remained halfway embedded into the ground (as in most cases). The site has a delightful ambience. August 2010

Bois Couturier Allée couverte submitted by greywether on 30th Jun 2005. A truly superb site which deserves to be better known. Restored and still sitting in its mound, the exceptional feature is the complete rebated porthole. Better still, the porthole "stopper" survives and is on display at the local museum. To add to the interest, there is "breast and necklace" art on the two outer portals, although now faint. Fantastic!

D10 Gasteren submitted by Martin_L on 23rd Oct 2010. Pole aerial view from the East. The 4 capstone-chamber is oriented WNW-ESE and measures 6,7m by 3,1m [1]. Two capstones are robbed. No traces of passage or enclosure. The chamber is deeply embedded into the sandy ground/remains of its covering barrow.

Dolmen de la Jagartière submitted by thecaptain on 20th Mar 2006. The slab sided chamber, 3 metres by 2 metres, is covered with a single large capstone, and has an entry looking over the Aude valley to the southeast at 160°. There is a small cairn surrounding the chamber, of which the excavations showed it to be of diameter only 8.5 metres, with an encircling circle of stones.

The chamber measures approx. 9,5m by 3,2-3,7m (Reference: van Giffen, A.E. , De Hunebedden In Nederland, Utrecht, 1925, Pl. 25).

Dolmen de Roche-Cubertelle submitted by gaellekonak on 24th Mar 2005. The Forez region around Montarcher used to be the realms of the Vellaves who gave their name to the Velay province.
Luriecq's Dolmen is located a few miles away from St-Bonnet-le-Chateau, in the village of Luriecq. It is supposed to be about 5,000 years old. It is located on the former territory of Paleolithic hunters. The presence of the stones proves the very ancient occupation of what was to become the Ségusiaves' territory with the arrival of the Celts.
