In the foreground of this photo there is a small concrete bollard which together with others around the perimeter of the site are suspected to denote the footprint of the original mound. Excavated in 1936 Early Bronze Age items were found although they represent a subsequent use of this neolithic site. September 2010.

Well, I stood right on the GPS coordinates for this site but it is now overgrown with heather and I could not really say that the depressions in the land were axe factories or natural features. Anyway it was a lovely walk as the mist cleared and I was able to explore four nearby cairns. September 2010.
