Babylon. submitted by DrewParsons on 5th May 2010. Parts of the Ishtar Gate and lions from the Processional Way are in various other museums around the world. This one I saw in the Louvre in Paris in 2009. When I visited Babylon in 1963 there was little evidence of anything historic left, the site was mostly mud rubble except for a stone lion. The rebuilt remains have little in common with the site as I knew it then. Incidentally the Ishtar Gate in the Pergamon Museum in Berlin is a wonderful site, unfortunately I took video pictures and no...
