Log Text: A beautiful, albeit fairly small, single standing stone in a very picturesque location on the edge of the Llynnau Cregennen. Further single stones, multiple stone settings and cairns are located south of the lakes. The local Hafotty area seems pretty chock-a-block with them, as well as numerous medievel and post-medieval sites. Must have been quite the ‘hub’ back in the day!
Deerleap Wood

Site Type: Round Barrow(s)
Country: England (Surrey)

Deerleap Wood submitted by dave_kay93 on 15th Jul 2025. Here is the barrow now, all under bracken and mature tree cover with some badger disturbance evident on one side. The central mound is several metres high with a flattish top and surrounded by a visible ditch. N.B. this is very much on private land (a woodland used for a pheasant shoot) with a lot of private signs around the access track.

Log Text: Located in private woodland owned by the Wotton Estate and used as a pheasant shoot. Bell barrow in decent enough nick though planted over with semi-mature trees and with a badger sett dug into one side. N.B. no public access, lots of 'private keep out' signs.

Llyn Du Carved stone submitted by Vortigen on 17th Mar 2017. Here's one of my favorites. It's a little higher up the mountain. A pear? A butternut squash? A tree of life in an hourglass?

Log Text: Was struggling to find this on a walk up Rhinog Fawr, and then as soon as we sat down to have some bait there it was on a rock right in front of us! Located just over the stone wall edging the lake, to the left of the stile. Other comments show there are more on other rocks nearby but the descending clouds kept us from finding those apart from one 'possible'.
