Deerleap Wood

Deerleap Wood submitted by dave_kay93 on 15th Jul 2025. Here is the barrow now, all under bracken and mature tree cover with some badger disturbance evident on one side. The central mound is several metres high with a flattish top and surrounded by a visible ditch. N.B. this is very much on private land (a woodland used for a pheasant shoot) with a lot of private signs around the access track.

Log Text: Located in private woodland owned by the Wotton Estate and used as a pheasant shoot. Bell barrow in decent enough nick though planted over with semi-mature trees and with a badger sett dug into one side. N.B. no public access, lots of 'private keep out' signs.
