St Winning's Well (Kirkgunzeon) submitted by Anne T on 20th Jul 2022. Looking down into the bowl of the well. Easier to see the stones forming a very rough bowl with the eye, rather than in the photograph. Large stone(s) in the foreground, then an arc of rough-worked stone-work courses from the right hand side across to the middle of the photograph, well hidden by shrubbery. Perhaps best seen in winter? No water was visible at the time of our visit. Said by the parish historian to be a pagan well, so ancient origins.

Crow Stone (Wigtown) submitted by Anne T on 29th Jun 2019. Approaching the stone from the south west. The darker blue/grey streak just above centre right of the photo are the distant Galloway Hills. Strange, as I remember them much more visible on the horizon at the time of our visit.

This is the collection of early Christian carved stones from St Ninian's Cave, now displayed in Whithorn Museum. I only succeeded in photographing a few properly as other visitors were in the museum, and by kneeling on the floor I was blocking the path!

Take the small road from the A747, 1km ESE of Monreith, to Golfcourse 'The Lag'. On the right side, just after the cattlegrid, there is a rocky hillock with an Otter statue on top. The motifs are just below the statue on a small ledge. There is public access.
