Log Text: It was a little hard to tell exactly where this alignment was, because the map on the information board is set 90 degrees off, and has no compass rose. When we did find it, all that can be seen today is the tips of the now mostly buried stones.

Log Text: A long walk, but all on a nice footpath. It is interesting how often the idea of the punished maidens / knights / etc turns up in regard to standing stones.

Ciste de Croix Saint-Pierre

Ciste de Croix Saint-Pierre submitted by aolson on 3rd Aug 2020. A tranquil scene in the setting sun.

Log Text: This structure looks like it could have come right out of any of the village cemeteries around here, with its headstone and low walls. It was even sporting a bouquet at the foot of the grave. All that was missing was an grave candle.

Le Tribunal

Le Tribunal submitted by AlexHunger on 21st Sep 2004. "Le Tribunal" Cromlech at St. Just, viewed from North. The nearest stone was displaced to make room for the path. 9 Stones survive. The site is pointed to the east an there is an "Aiming Stone" to the east, which points at the Chateau Bu.

Log Text: Hard to imagine that they would remove several stones to put in a path so the tourists could see the megalithic structures!

Kerbourgnec Alignements

Kerbourgnec Alignements submitted by thecaptain on 12th Jun 2006. There seemed to me to be several very clear lines of rocks stretching out into the sea in parallel rows. I believe I could see at least seven rows of rocks from where I sat on the bottom of the steps down to the beach. Fantastic!

Der Stein Dossenbach

Der Stein Dossenbach submitted by Faseso on 11th Nov 2016. Quite difficult do find. However, the co-ordinates were almost on the spot.

Log Text: Made another attempt to find the menhir, this time in winter... Success!
Note the updated coordinates, as you need to get pretty close to see the stone in the brushy woods.

Hunnenstein (Dossenbach)

Hunnenstein (Dossenbach) submitted by Faseso on 11th Nov 2016. Hunnenstein near Dossenbach. The surrounding landscape is also of importance here. There seems to have been some a henge, ritual site - nearby is also the Menhir of Dossenbach. There could have been a connection of the two.

Heidenstein (Schwörstadt)

Date Added: 27th Dec 2020
Site Type: Burial Chamber or Dolmen Country: Germany (Baden-Wuerttemberg)
Visited: Yes on 26th Dec 2020. My rating: Condition 2 Ambience 2 Access 5

Heidenstein (Schwörstadt)

Heidenstein (Schwörstadt) submitted by AlexHunger on 4th Sep 2005. Heidenstein - Schwörstadt (Front) Front upright orthostat with "Soul Hole" and only remainder of former Dolmen. 1.9 Meter tall and about 3 meters wide and dated to about 2500 BC. The cap stone was alledgedly carted away by the local blacksmith several decades ago. The rear side shows traces of fire due to the burning of trash. Archeologists have marked out the outline of the rest of the dolmen with bricks and set up an information sign. It and the Toten Mann are the southernmost Dolmen...
(View photo, vote or add a comment)

Log Text: We first read the information panel, outlining the excavation and finds, and then on the "inside" of the dolmen we found some freshly laid flowers, which made the dry numbers or excavated skeletal remains in the information seem a little more human.

Steinreihe Reservoir submitted by Megalithic89 on 14th Nov 2020. Stone row in Switzerland. View from N.

Log Text: I was looking for a reservoir (English) when Reservoir (German) could mean water tank. I was a bit confused by the lack of a Stausee in the area. I think the row may be in the bit of woods that extend to the west just after the Y junction i the path.
