It s a melon shape barrow near St Aquilin. Tumulus de Ventadou.
Take the D43 St Astier to St Aquilin, best park by the church and walk up the hill to the chateau du Roc, and old perigourdin house perched on the hill. Take the first path on the left. Do not continue up to La Vigerie.
The barrow is at the bottom of the hill behind the 2nd house you find. The barrow is not visible when there is a high crop planted in the field behind the farm as this is situated at the bottom of the field, 50 m behind the old abandoned farm.

Beloire dolmen

Beloire dolmen submitted by Rubis on 3rd Feb 2011. This dolmen was breaking up before 1900 but the stones were left on the site. In the sixties or in the seventies an archaeologist decided to move it up at the same place. It has another name: dolmen de Beauregard, given from a farm around. This dolmen can be found between Meschers sur Gironde and Semussac. At the crossroad of the silo, take the white postsigns "Beloire", "Beauregard". The dolmen is on the left, right next to the road and not in the middle of the field. It is ...

Peyre d'Ermale

Peyre d'Ermale submitted by thecaptain on 7th Dec 2005. Peyre d'Ermale. I had no idea what this is meant to be and indeed no idea whether this is the proper megalithic remains! Later I find out that this is indeed the remains of a megalithic burial chamber (dolmen a bit incorrect perhaps). And that there is also a menhir nearby.
