Vedsted Jættestue 2 submitted by holger_rix on 31st Jul 2010. Round Barrow, "Holmshøj", 3.25 m high, 26 meters diameter. Top flat, slightly sloping towards NE. Inside the barrow, the northern half of a burial chamber. The chamber has been restored in a questionable way several years before 1927. (danish text: 'en ret daarlig' = 'rather poor') A modern passage is leading into the tomb from east, the original passage is missing. In the chamber the seven northern upright stones are original, two stones against west, three against north, ...

Vedsted Langdysse 3 submitted by holger_rix on 31st Jul 2010. Long Barrow, 52.50 m l in NE-SW, 11 m wide. Earth mound from 1.75 to 2.25 m high. Midst of this a hole, the chamber has been robbed. Of chambers seen a side stone towards W, 1.50 m x 0.50 m, partial covered with soil, and a burst stump. 6 kerb stones, partly bursted, at the west side, 4 against south, 2 against north.

Some have been removed, but have been replaced. In the middle was a large chamber, which is now quite covered with earth.

Vedsted Jættestue 1 submitted by holger_rix on 31st Jul 2010. Remains of a kerbed Round Barrow 1.2 x 16.0 m. Excavated and restored 1968, a stone chamber with passage. The hill is surrounded by a rim stone chain, which is only interrupted in the W side of the hill. In the south side a visible chamber oriented NS, set of three pairs side stones and three capstones in continuation of the passage consisting of eight orthostats of which two are shared with the chamber, and another capstone. Earth mound from 1.50 to 2.00 m high, somewhat disturbed by excavations. 10 m from barrows SW-end a hole straight to the hill bottom, about 7-8 m wide. Herein seen a bursted stone, most likely one of a chambers orthostats. 22 m from SW-end a similar hole with opening towards N. 34 m from NE-end a third hole. Longmen Caves submitted by DrewParsons on 7th Nov 2008. Longmen Buddhist Caves near the city of Luoyang in Henan province. Carved between 500 and 700 CE but subjected to Red Guard vandalism in the 1960's and before that in the 19th century western souvenir hunters and museum collectors who cut heads off with saws, sometimes taking whole murals.
