Taken from Egypt and placed in the center of Paris. It originaly stood in front of the temple of Luxor, where its twin remains. Similar to Cleopatra's needle in London, there are more captured obelisks of this kind in Central Park New York or Rome etc. It received a Gold cap on the Pyramidon tip for the year 2000.

Site in Rome: Obelisk from the temple of Karnak in Egypt dating to the reign of Tuthmosis III which was brouht first to the Spina in the Circus Maximus and was later placed in front of a church in the Lateran. It is the tallest Obelisk in Rome and the tallest still standing obelisk in the world.

Sais - Piazza Minerva Obelisk submitted by AlexHunger on 12th Apr 2009. Site in Rome: One of a pair of Obelisks from Sais in the Western Nile Delta. It was brought to Rome by Diocletian for the Temple of Isis.
It is now in the Piazza della Minerva behind the Pantheon. The other of the pair is now in Urbino.

Heliopolis Seti I Piazza del Popolo Obelisk submitted by AlexHunger on 12th Apr 2009. Site in Rome: Obelisk from the temple of Heliopolis made under the reign of Seti I . It was brought to Rome by Augustus in 10 BCE and erected on the spina of the Circus Maximus. It is now in the Piazza del Popolo.
