Place de la Concorde Obelisk submitted by AlexHunger on 8th Jul 2005. Place de la Concorde Obelisk Taken from Egypt and placed in the center of Paris. It originaly stood in front of the temple of Luxor, where its twin remains. Similar to Cleopatra's needle in London, there are more captured obelisks of this kind in Central Park New York or Rome etc. It received a Gold cap on the Pyramidon tip for the year 2000.

It is not well signed, but is very much worth the visit. Far View House plus four other villages and a dry reservoir are located along this level 3/4 mile unpaged trail. Site in Rome: Obelisk from the temple of Karnak in Egypt dating to the reign of Tuthmosis III which was brouht first to the Spina in the Circus Maximus and was later placed in front of a church in the Lateran. It is the tallest Obelisk in Rome and the tallest still standing obelisk in the world.
