Church Lawton South

Site Type: Stone Circle
Country: England (Cheshire)
Visited: Yes on 3rd Jun 2007

Church Lawton South submitted by TimPrevett on 3rd Jun 2007. Nine massive glacial erratic stones once formed a stone circle in this field, nearer the road (from left of picture, in front of houses). Few would know that now. I pass by here quite frequently, and smile, telling anyone with me "did you know...". See Paul & Vicky's in depth article.

Armada Beacon
Date Added: 18th Sep 2010
Site Type: Round Barrow(s)
Country: England (Cheshire)
Visited: Yes on 26th Aug 2007

Armada Beacon submitted by TimPrevett on 26th Aug 2007. Viewed from the west, the Armada Beacon, which is also a bronze age burial mound - though there is nothing there to tell the steady stream of bank holiday tourists such information.
A lovely area, and if you know where to find them (after 10 years of visiting, I do at last), many items of interest at Alderley Edge.
See main entries.
