Site 1 - Access: Turning left onto the road towards the A5025, just south of Cemaes, having come through Llanfechell village. We parked up on this (initially!) broad residential lane, then down a marked footpath on the right. Access: Parked considerately at the end of a lane leading to a farm, not far off the B5111 Llanerchymedd to Amlwch road. Down lane, and short way down on the right hand side there is a gate; there were sheep there when I visited, so I climbed over gate instead of opening it. The stone is in the middle of the field, just to the right.

Access: Next to a church building just off the A5025 Valley to Cemaes road; clearly visible from the road. Parking a little way to the south in a layby. Near Black Lion pub. Access by a gate.

Access: Parked up at a layby on a bend on the A4080 from Newborough to Llanfairpwllgwyngyll, just west of Brynsiencyn. Follow the line of trees and hedges, splitting two fields apart, going to the left or right side of the line (the stones are in the line of the hedges, so either side gives access). About 3 minutes walk down, in the hedge you will see the stones. Very easy access.

Access: We parked at nearby Llyn Alaw reservoir visitors' centre car park (some of the lanes to here are very narrow and bendy!). The stone I estimated about 10 to 11 feet tall, about 6 feet at its widest; covered in lichen. One side very smooth, and one side very rough.

Access: Park off the A5025 Valley to Cemaes road. I had to go through a farm, so I knocked and asked permission, and was granted it very cheerfully. The field was high in thistles in places, and quite spikey. It was also a silage field, so crap was everywhere.
The stone: Relatively small - about 5 feet. Couldn't see much detail on it, as it was sprayed with silage, and iced with bird poo.

Access: By a long lane off the B4545 south east from Holyhead. If you meet anyone else in a car along this lane, you are in trouble! Turning around was also problematical. Pulling back on to the main road was also a nightmare due to blind corners. The stone is to the left of the path in front of the windmill.

This stone is behind a wall, immediately opposite a white bungalow on east side of A4080. We parked on a very wide verge further down the road.
The inscription is on the north side, and can be made out on the photo if not actually legible. The CADW guide to Gwynedd gives the inscription as CUNOGUSI HIC IACIT, meaning (The Stone) of Cunogussus. He lies here. It may have been a prehistoric monument, but is thought to be ...

South of RAF Mona; left off A5. This stone is another that had previously eluded me, but was pleased to have got it this time! A large layby on the left, so parking was easy. Take the gate into the 2nd field, and turn right. The stone(s) are parallel to the hedge on a rise.

Just east of Pentraeth; off B5109 Pentraeth to Beaumaris Road. These three stones were in a quagmire of a field when I visited shortly after several days of unusually heavy rain (even for Anglesey 2 inches in 24 hours!).
