Penbedw Park Standing Stone submitted by TimPrevett on 7th Apr 2004. This stone serves as the likely outlier to the Penbedw Park Circle.

Site Type: Round Barrow(s)
Country: Wales (Flintshire)
Visited: Yes on 7th Apr 2004
Penbedw Park Tumulus submitted by TimPrevett on 7th Apr 2004. The Penbedw Park Tumulus as seen from one of the stones of the circle.
It also shows the clear surplanting of trees, to replace stones to complete a sense of the ring.
Burl reports on some who were digging the tumulus to see what could be found, and were warned that they would be haunted by the spirits of the dead who dwellt there.
Permission must be obtained before visiting, as it is on private park land.

Cefn Maen Amor
Date Added: 18th Sep 2010
Site Type: Stone Circle
Country: Wales (Gwynedd)
Visited: Yes on 29th Jul 2004
Cefn Maen Amor submitted by TimPrevett on 29th Jul 2004. View to the north, higher ground not far away. Three stones can be seen here.
Cefn Maen Amor stone circle has absurdly small stones, no higher than 1 foot, and easily lost under the bilberry and heather. Marked on OS maps as a cairn just to the north west of Maen Penddu standing stone, on a higher track, this is situated on a flat area, just beneath the highest terrain (as many circles are).
Locating it was a matter of careful map reading, and looking for conspicuous bumps to the north of ...

Cors y Gedol
Date Added: 18th Sep 2010
Site Type: Chambered Tomb
Country: Wales (Gwynedd)
Visited: Yes on 24th Sep 2005
Cors y Gedol submitted by TimPrevett on 24th Sep 2005. This was our last stop of the day, so lighting conditions were deteriorating rapidly. The best way I could get something out of this composite shot was to use a sepia filter. The collapsed chamber here (as so many in the area) is obvious. Fine views out to sea, and up into the mountains.

Site Type: Portal Tomb
Country: Wales (Gwynedd)
Visited: Yes on 24th Sep 2005
Gwern Einion submitted by TimPrevett on 24th Sep 2005. Though the massive dolmen here has a wall built around it, and a ruined farm building to the rear, the sense of ambience is mystical. Very rarely visited one would expect - but a cracking site.
