Martin's Down Round Barrows submitted by TimPrevett on 27th Apr 2005. The two barrows looking down from the footpath leading to the Bank Barrow. Gives a sense of their size - even though they have been robbed out.

Broad Stone (Dorset) submitted by TimPrevett on 27th Apr 2005. The now levelled Broadstone, with rods to give a sense of its dimensions. A jest was made that it had already suffered enough without the Christianisation imposed upon it. Mind that there road...

Winterbourne Steepleton

Winterbourne Steepleton submitted by TimPrevett on 21st May 2005. A distant view of the stones at Winterborne Steepleton, from the roadside. Given I had already two fields of bovine close encounters that morning, I was not prepared for another! The two stones lie halfway up the hillside within farmland on the west side of the road from Hardy Monument to Winterborne Steepleton. One cow looks mockingly at me from the stones either side of it.

Martin's Down Bell Barrows

Martin's Down Bell Barrows submitted by TimPrevett on 23rd May 2005. One of the bell barrows viewed across the barley, from the gate into the next field. I just couldn't help thinking of the Fields of Elyssium in Gladiator here. It was blissful. Only sounds were the birds, and the 'white noise' of the wind through the swaying heads of barley. Blissful.

Chalbury submitted by TimPrevett on 23rd May 2005. In the central to south east area of the inner hillfort, down to the entrance which is at the south east corner, there are many stones. There are two stones in the foreground here, and another just left off the picture. The Bincombe Bumps are visible in the distance... as are those blasted pylons!

Bronkham Hill submitted by TimPrevett on 23rd May 2005. A huge amount of barrows, in many varieties and stages of depletion, run along the ridge of Bronkham Hill. This is approaching the largest barrow about midway along the hill (it *is* enormous), with some of the many Saxon Field Boundary Stones visible to the right.
