Country: England (Devon)
Visited: Yes on 7th Jul 2002

Larkbarrow Corner Stone Setting submitted by TimPrevett on 7th Jul 2002. Larkbarrow Corner Stone Setting
SS823410
A square shaped setting (fourth stone broken off at ground level) with a flat stone in the middle. The only group of stones I have seem on Exmoor on an improved pasture where the sheep graze all the grass. Survived well considering it's on more intensive farmland rather than open moor.

Log Text: Just adjacent the path, westward facing. Access up from the Longshaw Estate buildings, or down from the main road. Golden Hour here is mind blowingly beautiful, expansive views. The monument itself is ruinous but still very much in evidence, and on this visit the well was flowing vigorously with meltwater still draining from the moors.
Little Mayne

Site Type: Stone Circle
Country: England (Dorset)
Visited: Yes on 5th Nov 2003

Little Mayne submitted by TimPrevett on 5th Nov 2003. Right. I had to look in to this one; again - another place I have passed hundreds of times, right near the road. I had a short amount of time - so believing I had seen stones on the N side of the road on previous passings, I investigated there. I found a cluster of stones, most certainly once part of some feature, clustered under some trees in the corner of a field (ref. SY 723 871), and observed a stone in a field to the east (ref SY 724 870). The following day I obtained my copy of Peter Knigh...

Llanerch Stone
Date Added: 18th Sep 2010
Site Type: Rock Art
Country: Wales (Powys)
Visited: Yes on 22nd Sep 2008
Llanerch Stone submitted by TimPrevett on 22nd Sep 2008. The Llanerch Stone - covered in cup marks (not sure if any rings); also thought there could be 2 chevrons and a lozenge shape. The stone is largely covered over to prevent weathering, so we returned the disturbed sods to the stone once we'd had a peep.
Had a long natter with the farmers here too, who know of the stone, and regard it with interest, curiosity and keep an eye out for its wellbeing.

Llanfechell 1 submitted by TimPrevett on 2nd Jul 2002. Llanfechell SH364917 & 370916
Visited Monday 14th June 1999
Site 1 - Access: Turning left onto the road towards the A5025, just south of Cemaes, having come through Llanfechell village. We parked up on this (initially!) broad residential lane, then down a marked footpath on the right. If you are carrying a child on your back, watch out for low branches - as our daughter got a knock on the head which greatly upset her. Over a stile, down a very pot-holey field, through a gate (this bit was li...

Llanfechell 2
Date Added: 18th Sep 2010
Site Type: Standing Stone (Menhir)
Country: Wales (Anglesey)
Visited: Yes on 2nd Jul 2002

Llanfechell 2 submitted by TimPrevett on 2nd Jul 2002. We walked to this site from site 1; turning right on to main road, and then left on to a curving residential road. Access was over a stile (on the verge of falling to bits when we were there). The stone is clearly visible in the centre of the field, not too far from a pylon.
The stone: about 7ft tall, up to 2ft deep and about 4 ft wide. Not as much lichen as other stones, but characteristically decorated by the local bird population.

Llanrhaeadr ym Mochnant (Standing Stone)
Date Added: 18th Sep 2010
Site Type: Standing Stone (Menhir)
Country: Wales (Powys)
Visited: Yes on 4th Jan 2006

Llanrhaeadr ym Mochnant (Standing Stone) submitted by TimPrevett on 4th Jan 2006. The large re-used Bronze Age standing stone next to the road in the village. Once it was one of several stones here; now it's the only standing stone in the village.
If the archaeological database is interpreted correctly, the schoolhouse behind had a mound where the stone was formerly situated - before the school house was constructed.
Parking around the bend as seen, ideal for visiting the village.

Llech Golman submitted by TimPrevett on 15th Feb 2007. While a black and white photo may not capture the ruddy hues of this stone, I was still very pleased with this choice of 'colour' and angle.
