Moel Hiraddug submitted by TimPrevett on 19th Feb 2004. The silhouette of the precipitous Iron Age hill fort of Moel Hiraddug, viewed from the NE. This is the northernmost of a number of hillforts which sit upon the Clwydian range of hills. The ramparts are extensive, defining the perimiter at some 2400 feet long, and between 240 and 480 feet wide; the main entrance sits on the SE, with other entrances upon the S and NW. Some hut circles can be seen.

Minning Low

Minning Low submitted by TimPrevett on 11th Jan 2004. This was a sunny day; the 2nd Derbyshire Stones Meet started off visiting Minning Low with a crisp blue December morning, by the timewe reached the site, took in the ambience and features, the clouds were leaden. Those of us fooled by the clear start were absolutely drenched on the way back. Minning Low is a great spot - and as the main entry says, can be seen for many, many miles around - thanks to the help of these Beech Trees.

Middleton Hall

Middleton Hall submitted by TimPrevett on 24th Jan 2006. In the grounds of Middleton Hall Farm, to the North of a track, west of Mitchell's Fold, the SMR records a standing stone. There now seems no evidence of the stone. We looked in June 2005; after some nettle bashing, we could look through the fence, and the the only tentative offering was some stones in the field. So, this is the site of it, but the stone is no more it seems. This photo is here just as documentation, not for quality.

Maumbury Rings

Date Added: 18th Sep 2010
Site Type: Henge Country: England (Dorset)
Visited: Yes on 3rd Nov 2003

Maumbury Rings

Maumbury Rings submitted by TimPrevett on 3rd Nov 2003. This is Maumbury Ring SY690899, a henge not far out of Dorchester centre; Dorchester South train station is 3 minutes walk away, if that. The Romans adapted the henge into an amphitheatre, but it is an impressive monument nonetheless, especially given its proximity to the town - like IN the town! When I took this picture, the rain was chucking down; I was trying to shield the camera from rain, and so did not get any shots out of the relative cover of the nearly denuded trees.
