Cerrig Pryfaid
Date Added: 18th Sep 2010
Site Type: Stone Circle
Country: Wales (Conwy)
Visited: Yes on 29th Jul 2004
Cerrig Pryfaid submitted by TimPrevett on 29th Jul 2004. The northern arc, and outlier, of Cerrig Pryfaid, early morning in late July.
The very small stones of a complete and wide circle are hard to capture in one photo, so I decided to only focus on these, waiting for the sun to show through clouds, and was pleased with the result.

There are two stones in the foreground here, and another just left off the picture. The Bincombe Bumps are visible in the distance... as are those blasted pylons!

Chirbury
Date Added: 18th Sep 2010
Site Type: Henge
Country: England (Shropshire)
Visited: Yes on 24th Mar 2006

Chirbury submitted by TimPrevett on 24th Mar 2006. The location of the ring ditch, possible henge, west from Chirbury. Just an apparently empty field. The road to its south runs higher, and this photo is taken from the road. The crop mark was certainly in this field, and the approximate area has been circle. Size of the circle has no bearing upon the size of the ring ditch.

Church Lawton South

Site Type: Stone Circle
Country: England (Cheshire)
Visited: Yes on 3rd Jun 2007

Church Lawton South submitted by TimPrevett on 3rd Jun 2007. Nine massive glacial erratic stones once formed a stone circle in this field, nearer the road (from left of picture, in front of houses). Few would know that now. I pass by here quite frequently, and smile, telling anyone with me "did you know...". See Paul & Vicky's in depth article.

Cist Cerrig
Date Added: 18th Sep 2010
Site Type: Portal Tomb
Country: Wales (Gwynedd)
Visited: Yes on 22nd Apr 2006

Cist Cerrig submitted by TimPrevett on 22nd Apr 2006. I found what I am convinced is a cup mark on the east side of the wall from the remains of the portal, set into a flat protruding part of the natural outcrop. I had wanted to think this may have been part of the dolmen's capstone, but it appears to be part of the natural formation. Further research and communication will happen regarding this. This likely cupmark is visible beneath a head sized piece of quartz set in the wall, where the wall kinks. The stones of Cist Gerrig are visible right on ...

Clap yr Arian
Date Added: 18th Sep 2010
Site Type: Cairn
Country: Wales (Powys)
Visited: Yes on 15th Aug 2005
Clap Yr Arian submitted by TimPrevett on 15th Aug 2005. A composite of the cairn, 'Silver Lump'! The cairn is over 30 feet in diameter, and has some kerb stones remaining on its north western side. A large hollow shows a robbed out centre. The cairn is easily visited when visiting Maen Serth, and then on to Maengwyngweddew. If you look to the centre horizon in this picture, Maen Serth can just be made out.
