Log Text: Spring site is looking rather disheveled as there are no retaining features or culvert in place to stop slow erosion of top soil caused by sheep. Small stones have been added recently which help keep the sheep from digging into the soft edges too much. Various small trinkets and offerings seem to be present. Water is very clean. Overall a beautiful well kept secret for those who are “in the know”.

Log Text: One of my favourite local wells in East Riding as it is great for dog walking, and easy access from both the road and the former York to Beverley railway line. Town council paved the area some years ago, however there is various overgrowth from brambles and weeds now. Notice broads of the south and north ends of the well indicate its past and significance locally. A clootie tree nearby has various offerings and letters to loved ones.
