Lanacombe 2 submitted by TheCaptain on 17th Aug 2007. The third stone I found, I would estimate to be about 20–30 metres further up the hill, but it is leaning over or fallen, and well hidden in some marsh grass.

Lanacombe 5

Lanacombe 5 submitted by TheCaptain on 5th Aug 2007. On the south facing slopes of Lanacombe Hill on Exmoor, are the remains of this fairly recently found stone setting. I found many stones and stumps of stones standing proud of the ground. The book I have says 9 stones in 3 rows, but to be honest, it could be anything.

Hoccombe Hill (W)

Hoccombe Hill (W) submitted by TheCaptain on 26th Jun 2007. The stones run up the slope, but are not in a straight line, in fact it’s difficult to describe the shape, a sort of lightning flash, or perhaps a sort of very long thin diamond. The southern, downhill three are still standing.

Brendon Two Gates (W)

Brendon Two Gates (W) submitted by TheCaptain on 23rd Jun 2007. Not far away from this little stone row is the memorial to Col Robert Maclaren, who was blown up during a secret weapons trial accident out here during the second world war. It's a nice big granite stone, standing proudly on the high ground, and can be used as a guide towards the ancient stones from Brendon 2 Gates.

Drizzlecombe menhir 2 submitted by TheCaptain on 13th Jun 2007. This magnificent menhir at the downhill end of row 2 (or C) at Drizzlecombe is the largest on Dartmoor, and said to be "by far the finest in the west of England". I wouldnt argue with that.
