Spectacular views abound, with panoramic views to the Tal Y Fan mountain to the south, the Great Orme to the east, and Anglesey to the west.

The copper mines at Alderley Edge have been mined intermittently during recent centuries from 1693 until 1919, but there is evidence to suggest that Bronze Age man also exploited the ore and there may even have been activity in the area much earlier in the Neolithic period.

Haylie submitted by mickm on 22nd Jan 2005. Haylie burial chamber, also known as Haco’s Tomb is situated on a shelf on the hillside overlooking Largs. This Clyde type chamber is all that remains of what was an enormous cairn that was known as Margaret’s Law. It was completely destroyed in 1772 when over 15,000 cartloads of stone were removed, revealing the chamber.
