Desborough Castle submitted by TheCaptain on 29th Mar 2004. Desborough Castle, High Wycombe, Buckinghamshire, SU846934
The fort commands a fantastic position above the valley, with views to High Wycombe in the east, and West Wycombe and its fortified hill along the valley to the west.
This is the view along the valley to the west showing the fine sight of West Wycombe Hill and its encampment.
Although it is thought that the major remains of Desborough castle date from medieval years, there is no doubt that this place has been fortified and used...

Hampston's Well
Date Added: 12th Aug 2011
Site Type: Holy Well or Sacred Spring
Country: England (Cheshire)
Visited: Would like to visit
Hampston's Well submitted by TimPrevett on 5th May 2008. The main entry has good details. On arriving there is space for two cars, and even a bag for litter! Two large embedded columns give information about the sites history, linking them to Burton Iron Age settlement and Anglo Saxon usage. Blue Boar Farm
Date Added: 12th Feb 2013
Site Type: Round Barrow(s)
Country: England (Cheshire)
Visited: Would like to visit

Blue Boar Farm submitted by Vicky on 15th Dec 2001. Blue Boar Farm Barrow, Rainow, near Macclesfield, Cheshire GR: SJ970763
This scheduled conical mound stands in a field opposite Blue Boar Farm and was first mentioned in the 19th century. Standing on a naturally level platform on the ridge top, this tumulus was originally around 20m in diameter but because of ploughing it is now closer to 31m by 26m. It was excavated in 1972, but sadly there are no records as to what, if anything, was found.
