Two large embedded columns give information about the sites history, linking them to Burton Iron Age settlement and Anglo Saxon usage. Steps lead down into a wide open area into which seem to flow a number of tributary springs - though given Cheshire and Lancashire had some flash flooding last night with horrendous thunder and torrential rain, much of this wider area was a mud bath.
