Maiden Castle Barrow Cemetery submitted by JimChampion on 26th Jul 2005. Looking north at the most prominent barrow of the cemetery, from the edge of the Maiden Castle visitors' car park. The barrow can also be seen from the nearby Dorchester by-pass, a few weeks earlier I was passing by and the barrow seemed to be stood amid a sea of blue cornflower.

Mag's Well (Abinger Forest)
Date Added: 2nd Dec 2011
Site Type: Holy Well or Sacred Spring
Country: England (Surrey)
Visited: Yes on 2nd Dec 2011. My rating: Condition 2 Ambience 4 Access 3

Mag's Well (Abinger Forest) submitted by Andy B on 3rd Mar 2010. Hidden in the woods behind Coldharbour is Mag's Well, a healing spring said to ease skin complaints. Being slightly impregnated with sulphate of magnesia, the water has a somewhat sulphurous taste and should not be taken in any significant quantity. The name is probably a corruption of St. Margaret's Well.

Maen Mawr submitted by AngieLake on 8th Aug 2005. This view of Maen Mawr looks north towards the even-shaped flat-topped mountain that blocks the north aspect of this lovely symmetrical valley. The larger Fan Brycheiniog mountain is out of sight to the NW of this view. Behind me is Cerrig Duon circle, overlooking the alternate E/W folds either side of the southern slopes of the valley from the semi-circular south end of this platform.

Country: Wales (Powys)
Visited: Would like to visit

Maen Llia submitted by Johnny on 18th Sep 2001. Maen Llia Standing Stone (Powys, SN 924 193)
"Llia’s Stone" is an elegant and imposing standing stone which is impressively situated in a remote position at the top of the Llia valley, along which it points directly north to south. It is a massive slab of a stone 3.8 metres in height, 2.8 metres across but only 0.9 metres thick and dominates the scenery in the austere moorland of Fforest Fawr.

Maen Addwyn
Date Added: 23rd Oct 2016
Site Type: Standing Stone (Menhir)
Country: Wales (Anglesey)
Visited: Would like to visit
Maen Addwyn submitted by TimPrevett on 9th Apr 2004. This impressive sized menhir sits in the field boundary adjacent a road, opposite a school, which out of school hours makes handy parking for viewing the stone.
Mynydd Bodafon is visible to the north west, otherwise flat fields are visible in all directions.
The stone is being encroached upon by the spread of ivy. My last visit (actually 15th June 1999) showed relatively little ivy on the stone; by April 2004 the growth was much more significant.
