"The Big Stone", as this translates, is as about as Welsh as it can be whilst still just in England! The Welsh border is not far, and Offa's Dyke makes its presence felt less than a mile away. The stone is on a south facing slope, leaning to the west, at the meeting of three boundaries - a fine example of a hoarstone, or boundary stone.
