St Elvis Farm submitted by Adam Stanford on 18th Nov 2004. Located on a N-W facing slope, the tomb is one of three coastal burial sites in south-west Wales which appear to have been purposely concealed from the sea. A ‘double cromlech’ with 2 capstones is supported by two uprights. There are traces of a mound between both chambers and on the western side of the western chamber. However, both structures are today badly damaged. During the latter years of the 19th century, a tenant farmer from nearby St Elvis Farm was asked to stop ‘blasting’ bits...

Log Text: This row can be a tricky one to get to. The easiest way involves crossing a river on foot and utmost care needs to be taken. A visit should not be contemplated after heavy rain and even at others times this is not one to be visited alone. If any doubt do not attempt the crossing. Car parking is available at SN 85314 20324. From the car parking area carefully cross the river and then head uphill and northwards towards the row. The stones in this row are all tiny and a careful search will be required to find them. Good luck.

Pwll-y-Wythen Fach submitted by SandyG on 29th Dec 2014. Circular drystone building in the foot of a shake hole. The structure appears fresh in appearance, is unusual in form for a prehistoric dwelling and should therefore be considered more likely to be of historic date. Still an impressive location. To judge the scale note the figure on the rim of the shake hole above the structure. View from west (21st July 2014).

Log Text: Car parking is available at SN 81996 27149. From here take the track leading south to SN 82216 26547. Cross the wall via a stile and head across open moorland to the row. It is worth having a look at the stone circles a short distance to the south east of the row. A stream needs to be forded and wellingtons may be the best footwear for this one.
