Log Text: This row can be a tricky one to get to. The easiest way involves crossing a river on foot and utmost care needs to be taken. A visit should not be contemplated after heavy rain and even at others times this is not one to be visited alone. If any doubt do not attempt the crossing. Car parking is available at SN 85314 20324. From the car parking area carefully cross the river and then head uphill and northwards towards the row. The stones in this row are all tiny and a careful search will be required to find them. Good luck.

Cheriton Ridge 2 submitted by TheCaptain on 23rd Feb 2011. This stone setting is easily found, even though the four standing stones are each no more than a foot tall. At first, the four standers seem to be four stones of a six pack, with the other two still in place but broken.

The stones are tiny and very difficult to find, with most of them probably buried under the turf and heather.

Chun Quoit submitted by sem on 16th Jun 2005. The capstone and the horizon.
There is a theory that dolmens (or quoits as they are known in Cornwall) were not totally covered in earth but the capstones were left uncovered and were a copy of the horizon. I have manipulated the tones in this shot to show this, but no shapes have been altered.

Only 2 roofing lintels remain of this fogou associated with Chysauster Courtyard House village. The English Heritage response to the cost of restoration is sadly predictable.
