Log Text: Although nothing remains of this site, which has long been destroyed, I thought that it would be interesting to visit the location and try walking the location of the Henge where possible. Based on the information already posted on the Megalithic Portal and an article from Oxonensia by Lambrick from 2013 (https://www.oxoniensia.org/volumes/2013/Lambrick.pdf) I was able to trace the location of the henge around Keble, Parks and Blackhall Road.

It is fascinating to think that this part of Oxford could once have been part of a wider ceremonial landscape of major significance, especially in the light of discoveries in adjacent areas such as the University Parks and the Radcliffe Infirmary site. I certainly feel that it would merit an information board or plaque at the location to explain the history.

Kemp Howe

Kemp Howe submitted by nicoladidsbury on 29th Mar 2004. This is the remains of what must have been a beautiful stone circle. The stones are pink granite and have a lovely glow. Unfortunately the ambience has been shattered by the "wonderful" victorians, who built the railway on top of it.

Log Text: This site sits directly adjacent to the road but is still extremely easy to miss amongst the trees unless you know the exact location. The huge megaliths still manage to impress and in my opinion this site much more atmospheric and imposing than the more famous Whsipering Knights at Rollright. Well worth the slight detour from Enstone on the A44.

Hill o'Many Stanes submitted by DrewParsons on 14th Oct 2010. Hill o'Many Stanes on a sunny day in September 2010. It had been described to me as a mini Carnac so I was somewhat underwhelmed by it. With less expectations it would make a nice detour to see.
