Log Text: My personal favorite of all stone circles I have visited, not least because it is on my family's doorstep. I first came across Mitchells Fold around 12 years ago when I was still living in Shrewsbury. I had driven to the area for a walk and was startled by the impressive ring of stones, having no idea it was there. A truly magnificent, atmospheric experience, no matter the conditions.

Log Text: Visited Stanton Drew for the first time in August, to my shame because I've been living only 40 mins away for some time now. A remarkable place. It inspired me to start drawing again! The circle is huge, and the cove adds to the odd, pleasingly unsettling atmosphere of it all. Very easy to access and modestly advertised, I would say it is as magnificent as Avebury or Stonehenge but simply overlooked. Well worth a visit, and I shall be returning soon!

Log Text: A little overly-commercialised now of course, but, come on; Stonehenge is megalithic equivalent of seeing Black Sabbath back in 1971, before the drugs, mega-stardom and hair conditioner hit hard.
