Jadeite - aaaaaaaah - lovely jadeite.
These are the pinnacle of polishing of stone axes - they are insane. Just over 100 known in Britain (all from stone quarried from Monte Viso, Italian Alps - very hard to get to). Agglestone submitted by TimPrevett on 12th Aug 2005. Shropshire Traveller, Cassie the Dog, Teufel, Sharon, Izzy and Nat (front) at the enormous Agglestone - an outcrop of ironstone, which sits upon a mound within a vast natural amphitheatre. It used to be erect, and able to rock (ie. a logan stone), but the stone is now fallen. Attributed to Satanic throwing, and fancifully used for druidic rites, it is impressive.
