Su Tempiesu Pozzo Sacro

Su Tempiesu Pozzo Sacro submitted by AlexHunger on 15th Oct 2006. Bronze age Holly well near Orune, Sardinia. This well dates to about 1200 BCE and was covered up during a landslide at some point before 575 BCE. It was orginally about 5 Meters tall. The mud sheered off the roof, but otherwise preserved the well and it's votive offerings. The site was found again in the 1950s and restored in the 1980s. The point of the roof is preserved in a museum. 283 Meters altitude. Visiting the well requires an 800 Meter hike down the Hill from the tourist lodge.
