Tholos do Monge submitted by Bak_teria on 26th Aug 2014. There's no indications to get you to the site. I parked my car near by a sign that leads to Capuchos Convent (38.779982, -9.434325) then we went West by foot through a dirt road, when we got to a intersection we followed South 'till we get to a memorial very easy to identify - in the top of a pile of stones there's a big cross- we continued south and finally entered in a footpath in the middle of the trees to get to the site of the Tholos and with no surprise I found out it was very much abandon...

Log Text: The site has been cleared off the ivy and other plants. It's in a good overall shape, although the chamber has collapsed long time ago. You can easily spot the place by the high geodetic marker and signs from the trail. It's worth visit, especially because it is surrounded with rocky hills and beautiful mysterious forests. I am sure there are much more megalithic sites and wonderful rock formations hidden in the area.
