Nordy Bank submitted by TimPrevett on 5th May 2005. Towards the end of my visit here, three men arrived and spent considerable time debating and pointing upon the NW rampart; they were there so long I had to grab a photo to help put the sense of scale to the place.

Log Text: Visited as part of walk around the Clee Hills.
Amazing views - you can see why the hillfort was built here.
Shame that the rampart has been quarried into, but it was still good to visit a hillfort that's not covered by trees!

Log Text: Half a hill fort is better than none! I intended to visit this site whilst on holiday nearby. Was out on another walk and saw the hillfort, but as i wasn't expecting to visit as soon i hadn't got my notes with me. - Fatal,as i thought that what was actualy a central bank was the South East limit of the fort.Only realised later that i'd missed the chance to see about half of the defences.
However, the half of the hillfort i did see was worth the climb up from Oldcastle. The North West rampart was under bracken but was still impressive (as was the central bank).A modern track runs right alongside the South Western rampart. The North Eastern side is defended by the natural steep slope of Hatterall Hill.

Log Text: What a great chamber to visit.5 minute walk from where the car was parked in Rhoslan village.
Visited on a glorious sunny day, and despite it being a sunny week the inside of the chamber was still incredibly boggy/waterlogged which made it impossible to get 'under' the impressively large capstone. Despite this it was still a great visit.

Stoke Flat submitted by PaulM on 1st Sep 2001. Froggatt Edge stone circle (aka Stoke Flat), Derbyshire GR: SK249768
Froggatt Edge stone circle is set on a flat shelf, overlooking the picturesque Derwent Valley.
Often referred to as Stoke Flat, the site is complex, though now sadly quite ruined. It consists of an embanked stone circle with two entrances exactly opposite, to the north-north-west and south-south-east. Traces of dry-stone walling in the northern entrance suggest that it may have been deliberately blocked at some time in p...

This is a smashing place to visit on a nice day, of which this was most definately NOT one.

Log Text: Been meaning to visit here for many years.
Sad to say that the visit left me underwhelmed.
The invasive rhododendrons comletely covered the right hand side of the chamber. The inside of the chamber was cluttered with briars, weeds and undergrowth, making access to it nigh on impossible.
Only the portal stones and the stones on the left hand side of the chamber were visible (externally) and weed free.
This site desperately needs a bit of t.l.c.
Maybe the next visitor could take a pair of secateurs and garden gloves - they're sorely needed!
The Wrekin

The Wrekin submitted by TimPrevett on 2nd Jan 2005. Lookin to the North East, between the outer and inner ramparts of The Wrekin.
The path enters the inturned ramparts to the central area; the trig point and toposcope sit upon a Bronze Age Cairn, which is hardly in evidence.
Another, more slight rampart is visible to the left of the picture, before the hill becomes more rounded.
See main entry - click on the blue text to the left of the picture for more information.

Tyfos submitted by vicky on 7th Jun 2002. Tyfos Circle, Llandrillo, Denbighshire GR: SJ028388
This fantastic little circle lies in a farmer's field adjacent to a country lane near Llandrillo. Around 20 stones stand in a ring which has been described as either a denuded ringcairn or a free-standing stone circle. Although it is on private land it is well worth a visit and there are several gaps in the hedge making viewing easy.
