The two towers became part of a forum building which held statues now at the Antalya Museum. The Town was originally started as Parha or Parcha when it was run by the Lukka seafaring vassal tribe of the Hittites that lived in the Antalya region which later became Lycia. She is said to have risen from the foam at this location, reatively close to her temple. A local folktale has it that if you swim around the rock 3 times your lovelife/fertility will improve. In reality, the cult of Aphrodite did enter the Greek psyche via Cyprus as Phoenician traders brought the semitic Ashtarte (Ishtar) from the Middle east wherever they went.
